Who can apply
- Media start-ups and innovative media initiatives
- Existing and up-and-coming media outlets
- Independent non-profit and for-profit media outlets
Details of the grant
The media resilience grants are available to Jordanian media with a primary focus – in their content and staff (including journalists and freelancers) – on reaching and informing audiences within Jordan.
These grants are intended to support new, upcoming and existing media to become more resilient for the future. Therefore, preference is given in the selection to applicants who present a clear challenge or development need, or for whom core funding will be used to improve organizational and professional capacity, advance innovative ideas, and efforts towards the sustainability of the outlet or initiative. Submitted proposals must include:
- Clear learning objective, development goal, or innovative idea
- Commitment (time/staff) to development and capacity building efforts
- Ability or intention to diversify sources of funding
- Ability to reach diverse audiences and/or marginalized groups
- Cost effective and realistic budget breakdown
The selected applicants will benefit from capacity building support based on their needs and challenges, as assessed during the selection process.
Duration and budget
Maximum duration of the grant is six months. Budgets should be cost effective, clearly broken down and related to the proposal. A maximum amount of 30,000 Euros can be awarded for each grant.
