  • Type of funding: Programmatic. The Pulitzer Center will fund costs associated with reporting projects on tropical rainforests, with an emphasis on issues that have gone unreported or under-reported in the local and regional media.

  • Application languages: English and Cambodian/Khmer
  • Funding Size: USD 2,000 – 7,000

  The Pulitzer Center through the Southeast Asia Rainforest Journalism Fund (RJF) is calling for grant applications from journalists that report in Cambodia. Journalists (freelancers or staff), editors, and media organizations are invited to submit proposals on issues concerning rainforests in Cambodia.

  CRITERIA FOR PROPOSALS: 
  Highlight a strong topic on systemic and critical issues on the Cambodian rainforest;
  Preferably, involve collaboration. This could include local and/or Indigenous journalists, or domestic-international media partnerships;
  Have a strong and strategic distribution plan;
  Demonstrate attention to editing, reporting, and safety standards (for example, a careful travel plan and preventive health measures for journalists and communities);
  Utilize innovative reporting techniques, such as data journalism and multimedia storytelling (photos, videos, infographics, etc.), to build strong stories with minimal pandemic and safety risk to sources.
